FAQ

Tattoo Studio at Camp VC 2026

Before you book

How do I book?

Tap a design on any flash sheet on the homepage - it opens up close with its price and a "Book this" button. Tap that, choose a time, fill in your details, and pay the £40 deposit online. Your confirmation arrives by email straight away, and your consent form follows closer to the festival.

Who can book?

You must be 18 or over with valid photo ID. No exceptions and no parental consent. ID is checked on the day for everyone - bring your passport or driving licence. You'll also need a valid Camp VC ticket to access the site and studio.

What's available?

Flash designs only - pre-drawn, pick from the sheets. Black ink only. Arms and legs only. No custom pieces, no colour, no hands, necks, or faces.

How long will it take and what does it cost?

Each appointment is a 45-minute slot. Prices start from £90 and depend on the design.

How does payment work?

Your £40 deposit confirms your booking and comes off the total. You pay the balance by card or cash at the appointment.

Want more than one design? You can book several - just go through the booking again for each design, and each one needs its own £40 deposit.

Cancellations

Can I get my deposit back?

Deposits are non-refundable in all circumstances - including cancellation, no-show, arriving late, arriving without ID, arriving without a completed consent form, or being refused on medical grounds. The one exception: if we have to cancel your slot, you get a full refund (see below). If your circumstances change, get in touch as soon as possible at tattoos@campvc.raesanatomy.com.

Can I change my date or time?

Yes, up to 48 hours before your appointment and while there is availability. Go to the reschedule page and enter your booking email and booking number (the 8-character Operation code on your confirmation email, e.g. Operation A1B2C3D4). Your current slot is held until the new one is confirmed, so you never lose your place. Closer than 48 hours, or once the festival is under way, email us instead.

Can I reschedule within the weekend?

Before the festival, yes - use the reschedule page up to 48 hours before your appointment. During the weekend itself it is subject to availability and not guaranteed, but find us on site or drop us a message and we'll do our best.

Can someone else take my slot?

Yes, if you find a replacement yourself. Name changes and deposit swaps are possible with at least 48 hours' notice before the festival. Email tattoos@campvc.raesanatomy.com to arrange it. Your replacement must be 18 or over, bring valid photo ID, and complete their consent form ahead of the appointment.

What if my slot is cancelled by the studio?

In the unlikely event we have to cancel your slot, we'll refund your deposit in full.

Anything else I should know about timing?

Please keep to your slot time. Tattoos at Camp VC sell out every year and we want to get to as many people as possible - if you're late we may not be able to fit you in, and the deposit won't be refunded. Please also bear in mind that timings on our end can shift slightly on the day - if someone before you runs over, we'll get to you as soon as we can.

On the day

What do I need to bring?

Photo ID (passport or driving licence). Wear clothing that gives easy access to the arm or leg you're getting tattooed.

What if I'm late?

Please arrive on time. If you're late enough that we can't complete the tattoo safely, the slot is lost and the deposit is gone.

Can I be tattooed if I've had a drink?

No. You cannot be tattooed under the influence of alcohol or drugs - it affects consent, bleeding, and healing. Your artist will turn you away, and the deposit won't be refunded.

How should I prepare?

Eat a proper meal and drink plenty of water beforehand. It's a hot field in July and low blood sugar is the most common reason people feel unwell in the chair.

What's the consent process?

You'll need to complete your consent and medical history form before you arrive for your appointment - you'll receive a link to do this after booking. You can read the full form here before you book. Answer the health questions honestly - allergies, medications, conditions, pregnancy. Some answers mean we can't proceed, and that's for your protection. If you arrive without having completed your form, we may not be able to tattoo you and the deposit won't be refunded.

Is it hygienic?

Everything is single-use - needles, ink, gloves - and opened in front of you.

Your tattoo

Can I modify a flash design?

Small modifications may be possible - for example, removing shading, omitting small elements like stars or decorative details around a main design, or omitting a small logo or text. Add a note when booking and the artist will discuss it with you on the day. The deposit stays the same; any adjustment to the final price will be agreed then. Bigger changes, additions, or custom work aren't available at this event.

Can I choose my artist?

You choose your design, and the booking system will assign the original artist wherever possible. If they're not available at your chosen time, it'll assign another artist from the team. You can add a preference note when booking, but we can't guarantee it.

Can I add a second tattoo on the day?

Speak to your artist on the day - if time allows, we'll do our best to accommodate you.

Are there walk-in slots?

We strongly recommend booking in advance - slots are limited and pre-booked appointments take priority. We can't guarantee availability on the day.

What should I know before the needle starts?

Placement, size, and design are agreed before your artist begins. Small variations are normal in hand-applied work, and healing and final appearance vary person to person.

After

How do I look after my tattoo at an adventure festival?

We'll apply second skin after your tattoo, which keeps it covered and protected. If it comes off during the weekend, come straight back to us and we'll re-wrap it - don't try to manage it yourself. Keep it out of the sun, don't submerge it in water, and avoid anything rubbing directly on it. You'll get full aftercare guidance on the day - see also our aftercare advice.

What if something looks wrong when I get home?

If anything looks infected or you have a reaction, seek medical advice promptly. For anything related to your tattoo specifically, you can also reach us at tattoos@campvc.raesanatomy.com.

For artists

How do I sign up to be one of the artists next year?
